Telekhany Forestry Enterprise
Telekhany Forestry Enterprise spreads partially over the three territories of three Administrative Districts (Ivvatsevichi, Liakhovichi and Gantsevichi) in the Brest Region. It is 250 km. southeast of Minsk and consists of Telekhany Ski Manufacturing factory and the State owned Experimental Forestry and Game Facility - Telekhanskoye. The area covered is 83,000 hectares.
The territory of the Enterprise features a water-logged plain and approximately 2,600 hectares of the glassy surface of Lake Vygonovskoye.
The tourist facility is located on the south shore-line of Lake Vygonovskoye and consists of a wooden house (14 beds), sauna, a helipad, boat station and auxiliary premises.
Because of the variable relief of the territory it is abundant in various flora and fauna. Living in the area are 36 species of mammals, 128 species of birds, 18 of which are listed in the Red-Data Book of the Republic of Belarus, it is also rich in fish and amphibious fauna.
The number of ungulates runs up to about 130 moose, 240 wild boars and approximately 140 deer, with roe-deer exceeding 200. There are also about 250 beavers, common otters, mink and muskrats.
Predators that can be encountered are wolves, raccoon dogs and foxes. There are also pine-forest game - the capercallie (more than 100 birds) and black grouse (200). The lands of the Enterprise are ideal habitats for waterfowl (mallard, diving duck, common snipe and others).
This is just the place for a wide circle of nature amateurs, due to the rich and varied fauna, especially of the birds, the site is an attraction for both ornithologists and amateurs in general.
There is a yacht, a number of rowing boats, motor boats available along the quay and is the just the place for those who seek pleasures on the water. The lake is abundant in fish: more than 20 species, what more does an angler want?
